I see God's Plan

I am beginning to see that every second of every day is commanded and directed by God! I have had so many interactions with people the last couple of days, all pinpointed by Him.

My daughter spent two nights with a friend and had a friend spend the night here. I realize that as a parent our mission field is right here at home when we entertain others. Even if they are 10 years old. I love all of my kid's friends. They become part of our family. I laugh so often because her friends will say or do something and it is EXACTLY like their mothers would do or say. They really are our mirrors. Just watch them and spend time with them and you will see it. Very amazing!

My neighbor is one of my good friends . The husband and wife have become two people I really cherish. I was cutting his hair today and we were talking about God. He sometimes has different views than I do, but I think that is why God has us across the street from each other! So I can at least tell him how much he means to me and God! I am waiting for 4:45 to roll around Monday because he gets his long awaited, dreamed of forever, coolest HARLEY MOTORCYCLE. I am going to try to take pictures for him. I know he is excited beyond words!

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas!

Well, let me explain the " White Christmas". One of my best friend's daughters spent the night last night. She is on one the sweetest kids I know and I always enjoy being with her. Well, her parents and my husband and I went out to dinner together as couples WITH NO CHILDREN (except a sweet baby, he still nurses) Anyway, her oldest daughter babysat for us and we had a lot of fun. Visiting with them and talking and laughing is such a treat. We went out to dinner and then stopped at a book store and looked in the parenting/teaching section. We both home school so it is something we both love to do, look at educational books.

The next day, my friend called and said her two boys were loaded with some pretty healthy lice~We have never had it before ( Thank the Lord)I know it is one of those things that just happens, there is nothing you can do to prevent it. I am a very cautious person when it comes to germs ( aka germ freak) Not really, but maybe a little more than some people. So , the White Christmas is what I do not want to see on my kid's head in a month. Yuck! I felt so bad for my friend because she was very busy today with all her cleaning and combing and I know it was just another stress she didn't need, but, life happens if you're livin'! I plan on things being calm when I am dead.

We decided to be festive and have family time while my hubby was off so we put up our tree tonight. My mom-in-law let us borrow one so we can save money. We have been trying VERY hard to continue our new lifestyle post-Dave Ramsey. I have been so proud of the sacrifices my hubby has made. He has really shocked me in the things he has given up.

I have been looking at some other home school blogs and I have decided I could probably not buy any curriculum besides math . There are so many links and lessons on other people's blogs. I found a really cool one today of a brain printable that you make into a hat. Very neat.

I look forward to tomorrow with a heart full of thanksgiving. This year has been such a growing time for our family. God has shown us many new things . We are so thankful to have the privileges that we have in worshiping God. It was not easy for the pilgrims at all but they made a way for the rest of us. I can not imagine bringing my kids over here in the conditions they chose to endure.

I am thankful tonight for the right to home school my children, friends and family, health for all of us, a home, a job for my husband, the opportunity to live in the greatest country ever, the military that fight for these rights, and for Jesus dieing on the cross for all of my sins! Have a very blessed day!

I Went To The Zoo ! Written By My Son

We went to the zoo and saw gorillas. And we got to see our Grampa. Then we got to see the penguins. Then after that we went to my friend's house. We played. My sister also got to see her friend. Then we came home and I saw my mom and dad.I got to see my sister, her friend came with us to spend the night. Now we are getting ready for bed.The End.

This is written by my six year old son. He wants to write, so I figured this could be a learning opportunity.

We all had a wonderful day today filled with blessings!
Good night and God Bless.

So many Blessings

My hubby is on vacation this week which is a real treat. We are planning on decorating our Christmas tree tonight. He will also be available to go with the kids and I on our annual ornament search. Last year my son got a dog that looked like a hot dog and my daughter got a ...... don't remember.

My dad called this morning to ask if he could take the kids to the zoo. Awesome! We get time to run around without the kids and they get to spend time with Grampa. He is so much fun to hang out with. Plus. he is so smart that the kids will learn a lot from being around him. I wrote his cell phone number with a Sharpie on each one them so they will have a contact number if they get lost. They don't know his number so they would not have a way of calling him. I know they will have a blast.

I went shopping yesterday with mom-in-law. We finished all of her Christmas shopping except for one person. We had fun spending time together. We have always been very close.
I chose the title So Many Blessings for today because I just feel so blessed right now with family and friends. God has just given me way more than I deserve.

Well, we are going to run around ( my husband is looking for his keys, he thinks he lost them ) This happens quit a bit because he travels at a fast pace and kind of looses stuff OFTEN . Well, if we can find the keys we are going to go have fun!

What a Plan God Has
What a Plan God Has Well, today was another great day. We are all healthy. My father-in-law had surgery and came through it with flying colors. I am thankful he did well. Our family woke-up today VERY lazy. I could hardly get motivated, so my hubby brought me coffee, in bed I might add.It did help but we were talking about how hard it is getting older. I jumped out of bed a few years ago , now I roll. Scary! So, I did what I love to do, I went to the health food store and got a big bottle of B-12 liquid BOOSTER! We'll see how that goes. i tried it today and didn't die, so that is a good sign.I then went to Goodwill and scored on some clothes and educational movies like Alexander Bell, Harriet Tubman, and a few others. Plus some really cute clothes for myself, the kids, and mom-in-law.Then I went to a resale store and found,,,, are you ready? FOUR Madam Alexander dolls for $30.00 for my daughter for Christmas. YEAH resale! I also got my son some shirts and a coat. But, the coolest part of the day is the fact that I drove past the old salon where I worked for 10 years and saw 1/2 off! Let me tell you why this is cool. OK, I have done hair 20 years and last Feb3 changed salons and moved with 8 girls to a new salon. Sounds like we all ganged up but it was IMPOSSIBLE to withstand the torture of the old place anymore. !0 years behind me, moved on.So, I worked one day, signed a contract, went to the resale store, met a sweet lady who was buying bunches of stuff for her nephew whose house and everything it burned Thanksgiving( this was in Feb. of this year, the house burned last year) So, I was so sad and begged her to come over to my house and I LOADED her up with 2 trash bags of clothes from my daughter. Then when she left, I was fixing chicken nuggets for my kids, turned on the grease( High) went down the hall to pick up some stuff with my kids, no time to spare so I was multi-tasking, and my daughter came running down the hall screaming there was a fire. IT WAS ABOUT 4 FEET TALL! A grease fire on the stove. So I did what any smart person would do,(grin) and carried it saying c-r-a-p all the way with each step. Third and second degree burn on my favorite RIGHT haircutting hand. MELTED. So, the point of this story? I got clipped and dipped every week for 12 weeks at the burn center, no more cutting hair, no money, and hurting. However, this was GOD'S plan. We refer to it as " The Burning Bush". I needed a clear sign to quit the one day of the week that I had worked for 6 years, Thursday's were now like any other day, at home where I am suppose to be. God kept trying to tell me but I wouldn't listen. Until the burn! Now, I have to find someone to cut my hair. I saw the sign 1/2 off at the salon I worked at pre-burn.So I went in a very nice girl said she could do it then. As we talked , she informed me she is agnostic? hmmmm and told me she doesn't plan on worshipping any man, or read a book written by men that weren't even with him. My heart broke. We talked for the whole haircut. The owner guy asked me what I thought of gay marriage,( I did tell him my views) and the funny thing was, there were 6 hairdressers there, not one was working, and they were all very interested in listening. I went to get my mullet cut ( I had tried to cut it off about 8 inches and couldn't reach the back) and I got to tell them all about my beliefs! God is good. What fun it was. I am praying that maybe I said something right and made a difference for someone. It is my goal!We went and saw a movie as a family, and I end the day, once again, praising God for all the blessings of another day!

Can you homeschool?

I was reading Easy Homeschooling Techniques today and found a checklist. Here it is.....
*I love my children.
*I have, or can make , some time each day to spend time with them.
*I have strong beliefs not taught in public schools.
I can read and write.
*I usually commit to things I believe in.
If you answered yes to most of these, you are qualified.
This was written by Lorraine Curry. Her insight is revealed in the pages of this book.

What have I done?

I am doing my first EVER attempt at blogging. I decided to do this because we just got rid of t.V. We had 300 channels and now.....3. Ouch.

So, I thought with my 30 minutes before bed each night I would unwind pecking at the keys. This is going to take forever because I type very slowly.

I have had a wonderful day today, busy but good. Everyone is healthy and I made a few bucks doing some hair. It amazes me how much God has given me in the area of clients. It is unbelievable. I have done hair since I was 17, that was quite a few years ago.

My kiddos spent the night with in-laws last night so I had about an hour to run an errand . I went to get some stamps for Christmas cards while they are 1/2 off. Then we came home and did Math and English. Not a very productive day, but a good one. I did find out that it costs $1,400 for a crown to be put on ONE tooth. That is very sad. I pray that my tooth that needs to have it does well until my appointment.

I guess I will go mess around with this site I set-up and see if there is any fun stuff to put on here, it isn't going to be very interesting until then.
BLESSINGS and GOOD NIGHT!
